Statement of Faith

Cedar House is a Christian charity. While we do not seek to impose our beliefs on others, our faith is a vital part of who we are and shapes the way we serve our community. We would describe our Christian faith as follows:

We believe in:

  • God the Father: One God, perfect in every way. Though He is the great Creator of all things, He loves us and desires to communicate with us.
  • Jesus the Son: Born of the Virgin Mary through the power of the Holy Spirit, Jesus is both fully God and fully man. He lived, died, and rose again; His death paid the price for the sins of all humanity.
  • The Holy Spirit: God’s power at work in the world, who speaks to people and calls them to believe in the Truth. The Holy Spirit lives within every believer, guiding and empowering them to live a Christian life.
  • The Trinity: The concept of one God in three persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – who together are fully God.
  • The Bible: God has revealed Himself through creation and, more fully, through the Bible. We believe the Bible is God’s inspired word and our guide for faith and conduct.
  • The Sanctity of Life: Every human being is made in the image of God and has great value, a value that begins at conception.
  • The State of Mankind: Although God created humans perfectly, we have all fallen short through wrongdoing, breaking our relationship with Him.
  • Justification through Faith: God sent Jesus to restore our relationship with Him. The only way to be reconciled with God is through faith in Jesus Christ, asking for forgiveness and turning away from wrongdoing.
  • The Return of the Lord Jesus Christ: Christians look forward to Jesus’ return, when He will come again as ruler and judge of the world, bringing an end to the present order.
